Butterfly Logo Project

Process

This is a logo and identity piece I made when my amazing wife decided she wanted to start a YouTube channel and demanded a logo and intro video. Her channel is mainly for parenting/lifestyle/mummy Vlogs and the identity is designed around that. The requirement were that it had to have a butterfly and the Logo text had to have a hand written feel to it.

I designed the logo and still brand image in Illustrator and Photoshop. For the Intro video animation I modeled, rigged and Animated the butterfly in Maya and rendered it using Arnold. The end result was that the 3d butterfly had to match up with the 2D design at the end. I added a Subtle particle dust effect to fly off the butterfly as it landed into the resting pose of the logo. Finally brought it all together in After Effects and animated the custom logo text.
